Our Generation Rescue Dolls

I'm sure as soon as you saw this picture you probably thought what did you do to that poor doll!!! :( I didn't do a thing, except fix her up and give her a new home. ;) I found this Our Generation doll at a thrift store for a reasonable price.

Ahhhhh!! :O

  • Ask an adult for help while doing this process :)
  • Wash hair with gentle shampoo and rinse out
  • Put conditioner in the doll's hair and leave in for 30 minutes
  • Dunk in hot water then rinse several times in hot water
  • Get a wire brush, take small sections of hair and carefully brush out the tangles
  • To curl doll's hair
  • Take one section of the doll's hair at a time
  • Twist one whole piece of hair around a pencil
  • Gently slide the hair off the pencil and stick a bobby pin through the middle.
  • Do the rest of the hair in bobby pins and let hair sit for two days.
  • Slide out all of the bobby pins and you have beautiful curls!! :D

Here she is all fixed and dolled up. ;) I am going to name her Susan after one of the characters from the Chronicles of Narnia series. All you Narnia fans know who I'm talking about... By the way I totally recommend the Narnia book and movie series!! I love Narnia!! :D

Susan's gorgeous hair!!

Now to the second doll, that I named Holly.

Holly's hair doesn't look as bad as Susan's hair, but she had tons of knots in her hair. :(

Holly after her transformation!!! :D

Here is Holly's hair all fixed. Holly's hair is not as wavy as Susan's.

Looks like Buttercup found a new friend. :)

Holly looks so cute!!
Cute kitty!! :)
Let me know down below in the comments if you have any questions or comments about these two dolls. I would love to hear what you all think. Thanks for reading!!! :)

*Doll Rescue* 2005 Girl of the Year Marisol

Here is Marisol, right now she is a little messy. Since she is retired you can only get Marisol on Ebay.

Marisol has a huge mark on her foot from her previous owner, but not to worry we can fix her up. ;)

I found a tutorial video on YouTube on how to get rid of marks on your doll. What you basically do is get some Oxy spot treatment cream from the store. The Oxy spot treatment has to contain Benzoyl peroxide. You can get the Oxy cream at Walmart and other stores.

What I did was put the Oxy cream on the mark on Marisol's foot, wrapped her foot in plastic wrap to, then I put her outside in the sunshine. The sun basically bleaches the mark with the cream on the doll's foot. Don't worry your doll's foot will be just fine. Make sure you wrap your doll in a towel or blanket and periodically check your doll.

Marisol's foot after the treatment. You can still see a faint mark on her foot, but most of it is gone.Marisol had to sit outside for a couple of days, sometimes it takes time for the mark to come off so you have to be patient. Please ask a parent's permission before trying this. :)

The next thing I did was get Marisol dressed and set her hair in bobby pins to curl Marisol's hair.

Ta Da!!! Marisol looks beautiful!! :D

Her gorgeous curls!! :D

Rebecca walked over to Marisol and said "Welcome to our doll family, Marisol." "Thank you Rebecca," Marisol replied.

Rebecca walked closer to Marisol and gave her a big hug. Marisol felt very loved and she couldn't wait to be Rebecca's friend. Marisol also couldn't wait to meet the other dolls!! ;)

Our Generation Custom Tauriel Doll

This is a rescue/ restoration that we did with an Our Generation that we renamed, Tauriel.

We decided to make a custom Tauriel doll from an Our Generation doll. Tauriel is from the movies; The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies.
We found an Our Generation doll at Savers for $4.99 with most of her hair already removed. Poor doll! :(

Tauriel has a hair weave made of  100% Nutura hair that I found at a thrift store. I used Gorilla super glue on the head of Tauriel to fasten on the hair weave around the head in a circle. This technique worked beautifully. You can comb and curl her hair without a problem.
Many years ago I watched a video by Stephenswodadancer
"How to Rewig Your American Girl Doll Using A Weave",
which inspired me to do this.  I  basically followed this video to rewig Tauriel. Tauriel looks amazing!

Tauriel's long beautiful hair!!

I know that the outfit Tauriel is wearing isn't accurate to her character, but we will try to get a Tauriel outfit for her.

Here is an adorable picture of Cherry Blossom!! I hope you all enjoyed seeing our custom doll Tauriel please comment down below and tell us what you think!! Thanks for viewing this post!!
